WHAT IS BARISTA INNOVATION CHALLENGE 2026?

Barista Innovation Challenge bukan sekadar kompetisi, melainkan perayaan seni dan keahlian dalam menciptakan kopi. Tahun ini, BIC kembali membuka peluang bagi para barista, home brewer, dan pelaku kopi untuk menunjukkan keterampilan dan pengetahuan mereka dalam meracik minuman kopi, serta menginspirasi komunitas kopi tanah air untuk menciptakan tren minuman kopi yang lebih inovatif.

Melalui tema “The Taste Begins At Origin”, BIC 2026 bertujuan untuk mengangkat kekayaan biji kopi Indonesia. Kami percaya bahwa pengalaman kopi yang luar biasa selalu mulai dari bahan dasar berkualitas yang ditanam dengan penuh dedikasi. Racikan setiap menu dengan penghormatan terhadap dasar, membiarkan setiap cangkir menceritakan kisah masing-masing origin kopi tersebut bertumbuh. Keaslian warisan alam dari hulu ini kemudian disempurnakan melalui inovasi oleh barista. BIC 2026 adalah tentang merayakan perpaduan harmonis antara kemurnian akar kopi Indonesia dengan eksplorasi rasa yang jujur.

Competition

Register and choose your preferred regional round through our official website at baristainnovationchallenge.com. The registration fee is Rp275,000, and each participant will receive a starter pack that includes:
200g of Locton coffee beans (Mandatory)
2 DRiPP products (syrup or fruit pulp – Mandatory)
250g of creamer powder

Participants are required to use the designated DRiPP products as the main ingredients during the competition.

Participants are required to create one innovative coffee-based beverage, complete with a recipe, a preparation video, and a story that reflects this year’s BIC theme.
From each region, 15 selected participants will be chosen to represent their region in the next stage — the Quarterfinal Round.

The 15 selected participants from each region will compete and present their beverages live in front of the judges. Three top-scoring participants from each region will be crowned regional winners, while six participants with the highest overall scores across all regions will advance to the National Grand Final.

In the grand final (national phase), six top-scoring participants from all regions will compete in Jakarta through two challenge rounds.
The two best performers from this stage will move forward to represent Indonesia in the grand final (international phase), where they will compete against finalists from across Asia.

The eight best participants from four countries will compete the following day, presenting a new beverage concept through two challenge rounds. The top performer among all finalists will earn the title of The Next Champion of Barista Innovation Challenge 2026.
